President LBJ accepts the resignation of "a member of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women"

TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, January 13, 1969. Letter to Henry David, the executive secretary at the National Research Council Division of Behavioral Sciences, in full: “I have received your resignation letter of January 3, 1969, as a member of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women. I hereby accept your resignation to be effective January 20, 1969. I want you to know that I have taken great pride in the work of this council and of its positive efforts to get more women involved in public service.” In fine condition.

Dr. Henry David was a former university official and expert in the development of manpower resources. During World War II, he was director of research for the North American division of the BBC. In 1964, he moved to Washington as head of the office of science resources planning at the National Science Foundation and, two years later, he was named executive director of the Assembly of Behavioral and Social Science at the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council. He headed the four-year study on vocational education carried out by the National Institute of Education under a mandate from Congress, continuing in said position until he retired in 1982.
