Fantastic vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.5 photo of Wayne as Texan sheriff John T. Chance in the classic 1959 movie Rio Bravo, nicely signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint to fellow Western icon Glenn Ford, "Glenn—Hope we do a double one of these days, Duke, John Wayne, 1961.” Attractively double-matted and framed to an overall size of 18 x 22. In very fine condition, with moderate contrast to the handwriting against the brick background. A great pose of John Wayne in one of his iconic roles, shown at full-length with rifle in hand, inscribed to a fellow Western star—though they never appeared together, Ford acted in some 26 cowboy films, including such classics as 3:10 to Yuma, The Fastest Gun Alive, The Man from Colorado, and Lust for Gold.
