One of John Lennon's last autographs, postmarked in NYC on December 1, 1980
Significant felt tip signature, "Love, John Lennon, '80," on a white 5 x 3 card, with his trademark self-portrait caricature sketch below the autograph. In fine condition, with very slight fading. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed to a gentleman in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, and postmarked from New York, New York on December 1, 1980. This is undoubtedly one of the last through-the-mail requests that Lennon fulfilled, and certainly one of the last autographs he ever signed. Just one week after the envelope was postmarked, on December 8, 1980, Lennon was shot and killed outside of the Dakota, his residence in New York City.
