Detached music book front cover for Maurice Ravel’s song cycle Sheherazade, 10 x 13, published in 1911 by A. Durand & Fils of Paris, signed and inscribed in French at the top in ink (translated), “To Maria Freund, a great artist, Maurice Ravel.” In very good condition, with scattered staining, and edge chips and tears repaired with old clear tape. Marya Freund was a German Empire French soprano (1876-1966) whose repertoire included Gustav Mahler, Gabriel Faure, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, Francis Poulenc, and Karol Szymanowski.
