Vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 photo of Hoover by Bachrach, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "To Mrs. Ruth S. White, With Kind Regards of Herbert Hoover.” In fine condition, with a light, unobtrusive stain touching the signature. Accompanied by a letter to White from Hoover's secretary, Lawrence Richey, on White House letterhead, March 2, 1933, in part: "I wish to tell you by means of this note, before leaving the White House, how deeply I appreciated the fine and helpful service you have rendered to the office and to me during the past four years."
