Two ALSs signed "Geo. Cruikshank," each one page, 4.25 x 7.25, including: one dated April 7, 1849, in part: "May I take the liberty of requesting your vote and interest for Mr. East…I know him to be a very respectable man and believe him to be fully capable of filling the office"; and an undated letter, in part: "I have much pleasure in accepting your invitation for Thursday." The reverse of the second letter features some pencil sketches, evidently in another hand. In fine condition.
