Revolutionary War general (1753-1807) who commanded a company of light infantry and took part in the Battle of Bunker Hill before serving under Israel Putnam and George Washington. Manuscript DS, signed three times (twice "Sam'l B. Webb, Col.," and once "Sam'l B. Webb"), one page, 7.5 x 9, December 13, 1782. Document certifying that John Forbes served in Webb's regiment during the years 1780 and 1781. In fine condition.
