Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R. I.,” one page, 15.5 x 11.5, August 9, 1881. Queen Victoria appoints Landon Dealtry Jackson as "an Officer in Our Land Forces…in the Rank of Lieutenant." Prominently signed at the head by Queen Victoria. The blue paper seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. Attractively double-matted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 31.5 x 19. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original War Office transmittal envelope.
