Unusual memorabilia from the world heavyweight champ: a TLS signed "Gene Tunney," one page, 7 x 10, personal letterhead, July 29, 1978, to Victor Trautwein, in part: "It is hoped that your hockey team will be able to raise enough money to accept the flattering invitation to play in Sweden next Winter. Here is a tie of mine to help you raise a little money for the fund. Good luck to you and your team!"; and his personally-owned striped necktie, mounted, matted, and framed with the letter to an overall size of 25 x 14. Also within the display is an unsigned image of Tunney with fellow boxing legends Jack Dempsey and Jack Sharkey, bearing pre-printed signatures of the latter two. In fine condition.
