In part: "It was good to have your heartening letter of congratulations. I deeply appreciate the confidence shown in me and it is my wish that I may always deserve it. Thank you for your pledge of cooperation. I am going to need the advice and counsel of all those interested in the administration of our government during the days which lie ahead. I appreciate your offer to send me a copy of the Roosevelt genealogy but, as I have a very complete book at the present time, I feel it will only be a duplication." In fine condition, with a tiny chip to the top edge.
