Deke Slayton's handwritten test papers and class notes from his time as a student pilot and engineer at the USAF Experimental Flight Test School at the Edwards Air Force Base in California, including: a 16.75 x 11 Flight Data Sheet filled out in pencil by Slayton for a North American F-86 Sabre test flight aimed to study “Longitudinal Stability—Mid. C.G.,” dated October 14, 1955, containing 23 “Shot No.” rows with recorded flight measurements in the adjacent 18 columns; an 8.5 x 11 notebook page annotated in pencil by Slayton, who neatly fills out the page with detailed flight equations; and an 11 x 8 graph sheet headed “No vs CN,” with an adjacent box marked “F-86 Ser. No. 2719, 14 Oct. 1955, Static, Long. Stability.” Includes two circulars from the Air Force Flight Test Center regarding “Letter Orders,” August 10, 1956, and December 14, 1956, both of which list Slayton as a pilot for an F-102A (Convair F-102 Delta Dagger) and F-86E-F and TF-86 (NA Sabre) aircraft. In overall fine condition, with some light edgewear. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from aerospace memorabilia specialist Ken Havekotte, stating that these papers came from those written by Slayton during his series of performance flight tests, report writing results, and stability and control class studies from June to December 1955.
