"I wanted to call you but I'm intimidated"

French photographer, painter, and poet (1907-1997) who, as a romantic partner of Pablo Picasso, was depicted in a number of his paintings. ALS in French, signed “Dora,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, January 27, [1960]. Handwritten letter to "Hector," in part (translated): "What a joy to receive your wishes. Happy new year. I wanted to call you but I'm intimidated. I think of you and I pray to God for you." In fine condition, with a rusty paperclip impression at the top and her surname annotated in ink in another hand at the bottom of the page.
