Description

ALS in French, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.25 x 8, Giverny par Vernon letterhead, June 17, 1910. Handwritten letter to art critic Gustave Geffroy, one of the earliest historians of the Impressionist art movement and a loyal champion of Monet. In part (translated): "I was just about to write you that my wife is feeling a lot better. Your visit would give us a great pleasure. Why don’t you come for lunch one day next week. Please choose any day apart from Wednesday as I have myself to go to Paris on that day to consult a physician for my headaches. I do expect a word of yours telling me which day. I will be so happy to see you again." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, accomplished in his own hand.
