I can recommend a few writers to you—Anne Rivers Siddons, Michael McDowell, and Tom Cullinnan—but right off the top of my head, those are the only southerners I can think of. I don’t have any plans to visit Georgia (or anywhere!) anytime soon; 1983 is gong to be my year to stick close to home and just write and enjoy my family. But maybe someday I’ll get back there, who knows. Hope you like the new book, Christine, due out in May.” In fine condition.
