Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734-1817) who later served as president of the Continental Congress, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Tho. M:Kean,” one page, 20.5 x 12, August 18, 1792. As governor of Pennsylvania, McKean grants to Thomas M. Willing "a certain tract of land, called 'Ashfield,' situate in the late Buchan now Tioga County." Neatly signed in the upper left in ink by Governor McKean. The seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. Also endorsed on the reverse by Timothy Matlack, the engrosser of the Declaration of Independence. In fine condition.
