Wilson seeks a rare Virginia volume: "Keep on the lookout, and, if you come upon a copy, let me know at what figure I can obtain it from you?"

TLS, one page, 7.75 x 10.25, October 18, 1898. Letter to bookseller A. S. Clark in New York City, in part: "I am sincerely obliged to you for your card about Meade's 'Old Churches and Families of Virginia,' though I am disappointed that you cannot find it. Will you not kindly keep on the lookout, and, if you come upon a copy, let me know at what figure I can obtain it from you?" In very good condition, with heavy irregular toning to edges, and a few edge chips.
