Interesting archive of unsigned documents pertaining to Zeppo Marx's patent applications for a "Pulse-Actuated Watch Mechanism" and "Cardiac Pulse-Rate Monitor," designed as a wearable watch-style heart rate monitor—an early predecessor of the popular Apple Watch and Fitbit trackers of today. Includes original copies of the Swiss patent application for "Cardiac Pulse-Rate Monitor" (October 10, 1967) and the Japanese patent application for "Pulse-Actuated Watch Mechanism," copies of related schematics and diagrams, carbon copies of legal correspondence affiliated with the patents, Herbert B. Nottage's "Introductory Notes on the Measurement of Pulse Rate" (September 23, 1967), a "Feasability-Study on a Pulse-Rate-Meter Placed in a Watch" (January 1968), and a color glossy photograph of an artist's concept of the wearable watch-monitor. Additionally includes an unrelated person check filled out in type and signed by Zeppo Marx, payable to Tel Page, $17.00, July 21, 1971. In overall fine condition.
