ALS, one page both sides, 4 x 6, Grove House, Weybridge letterhead, no date [circa 1880s]. Handwritten letter sent to “Dr. Vintras,” regarding a fundraising event for a hospital the recipient is founding. In full: “I pray for fine weather & hope the Fete will be a great financial success. May you also, always show me the same kindness & consideration that you have done in this matter. I know the French Hospital is your own child, and your particular care. Until I can give it further assistance, please let me contribute the enclosed to its funds.” In fine condition, with a thin stain along the top edge. Dr. Achilles Vintras (1831-1904) was the founder and Physician-in-Chief of the French Hospital on Shaftesbury Ave. in London.
