Contract between boxer Ingemar Johansson and promoter Edwin Ahlqvist, with the top reading “Articles of Agreement, Promoter/Boxer, For the Heavyweight Championship of Europe,” which finds Johansson agreeing to fight “Joe Erskine of England for the Heavyweight championship of Europe” in Gothenburg, Sweden, on February 21, 1958. Signed at the conclusion by both Johansson and Ahlqvist. In fine condition. On September 30, 1956, Johansson won the European Heavyweight Championship by scoring a 13th round KO over Italy's Franco Cavicchi in Milan. He successfully defended his European crown against ranked heavyweights Henry Cooper (fifth-round KO on May 19, 1957) and Joe Erskine, with a TKO in round 13 on February 21, 1958.
