Description

The Communist-hunting Senator McCarthy refutes a newspaper piece concerning the "evidence against Mrs. Rosenberg"

TLS signed "Joe," one page, 8 x 10.5, United States Senate letterhead, February 5, 1952. Letter to John H. Teeter, in part: "Just received your note inquiring as to whether or not I was correctly quoted in the New York Post article of January 24th. In going over the article I did not find where they quoted me directly. On page 5, however, the article states, 'In effect, McCarthy admitted that he had assigned investigators to the task of obtaining evidence against Mrs. Rosenberg but pleaded that they had been simply seeking the truth.' This, of course, is untrue as I have previously explained to you and Walter." In fine condition.
