Description

King of Great Britain and Ireland (1765-1837) from 1830 to 1837, he earned the sobriquet 'Sailor King' for his youthful service in the Royal Navy. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “William R.,” one page, 15.75 x 11.75, August 8, 1833. The king appoints Donald McDonald to be a "Captain of a Company in Our Trusty seventh Regiment of Foot." Signed prominently in the upper left corner by King William IV and countersigned in the lower right corner by William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne. The left side retains the original white blue paper seals. In fine condition.
