American swing era jazz trumpeter, arranger and composer (1920-1971) who played with Dizzy Gillespie, Roy Eldridge, Sidney Bechet, Billie Holiday, and many more. One of his compositions, 'Undecided,' is a jazz standard. Vintage glossy 7.75 x 10 photo of Shavers by James J. Kriegsmann, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Arthur, with best wishes, Charlie Shavers.” In fine condition, with slightly trimmed edges.
