The ensuing scandal made international headlines and remains a cause of speculation more than a century later. Scarce manuscript DS in German, signed “Rudolf,” one page, 8.25 x 13.5, June 21, 1882. Untranslated military document signed at the conclusion by Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria. Affixed to a slightly larger sheet and in very good to fine condition, with some light creasing and toning. Accompanied by an original cabinet photo of the crown prince, with a skinned back.
