Mullany, in part: "Your fine little son has handed me your letter of this day: I immediately called to see Mr. Bleeker, whom I consider our best informed man on these subjects; but I have not had the good fortune to find him at his office nor do I expect to see him until after the departure of your son—When I recommended you to sell your lots at Bloomingdale I had a purchaser in my eye, to wit Halsey Rogers, who I know was desirous of purchasing at least a portion, if not the whole, of your lots; but he is unfortunately at this moment at Quebeck on some lumber concern…I pray when you visit our City you will make my House your resting place & take your meals with us that we may have better opportunities to confer on these matters."
