Vintage matte-finish 6.5 x 9 portrait of Hughes in his judicial robes by Harris & Ewing, affixed to its original 6.75 x 10 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in fountain pen, "To Hon. John A. Dix, Governor of New York, with cordial regards, Charles E. Hughes, Dec. 3d 1911.” Affixed to a slightly larger mount and in very good to fine condition, with silvering and light rippling to the image. A fantastic association piece between New York governors.
