US Navy admiral during World War II (1886-1969) remembered for commanding forces during the Battle of Midway and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. Vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 12 photo of Admiral Spruance in his military uniform, signed in fountain pen, "R. A. Spruance, Admiral, U.S.A." In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, silvering to his jacket, and creasing to the lower right quadrant.
