Handwritten letter as First Lord of the Admiralty, in part: "I should have given you a ship before this time had I not understood that it was your wish to have one that is to be fitted at Plymouth, it is therefore no fault of mine that you are not now at sea." Matted and framed with a portrait and caption to an overall size of 19 x 15. In fine condition.
