Original vintage pencil sketch by the young Bob Dylan of "'Little' Willie, Lead Singer of The Nightgales" on an off-white lined 8 x 10.5 sheet, sent to his girlfriend Barbara Hewitt during his high school years. The sketch shows 'Little Willie' with a microphone suspended above him. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and a few stains to lower right.
This drawing is proof positive that Bob Dylan has always been a visual artist—from this sketch of "Little Willie" to his pioneering 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' film to the current-day 'Drawn Blank' series and 'Mondo Scripto' illustrated lyrics, Dylan is an artist in every sense of the word.
