Large original pencil sketch of the musical actress by Dorothea Ahrens on an off-white 12 x 16 cardstock sheet, signed in fountain pen, "To Dorothea Ahrens, In sincere appreciation, Ethel Merman." Also signed and dated by the artist in ink, "D. A. Ahrens, 1943." Matted to an overall size of 16 x 20. In fine condition. Ahrens made numerous sketches of entertainers throughout the 1940s and 1950s, and was highly successful in having her subjects autograph them.
