Superb original 1972 painting by astronomical artist Don Dixon entitled ‘Exploring Deimos, 23.5 x 17.5, which depicts an astronaut inspecting the craggy surface of the Martian moon Deimos. His partner is seen tethered a good distance away in front of Mars and near a large American spacecraft. Signed in the lower right corner in white paint by Dixon. Framed to a slightly larger size and in fine condition, with some scratching to the frame.
