Pentecostal evangelist and media celebrity (1890-1944) in the 1920s and 1930s who became famous for founding the Foursquare Church. McPherson has been noted as a pioneer in the use of modern media, because she used radio to draw on the growing appeal of popular entertainment in North America and incorporated other forms into her weekly sermons at Angelus Temple, one of the first megachurches. Unique vintage matte-finish 7 x 9 photo of McPherson by Paralta Studio of Los Angeles, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to the important silent film comedian, "To Harold Lloyd, With Best Wishes, Aimee Semple McPherson." In very good to fine condition, with some vertical rippling to the photo, and portions of the ink slightly faded.
