American professional basketball player (1933-1970) for the NBA’s Cincinnati/Rochester Royals from 1955 to 1958. Stokes was a three-time NBA All-Star, a three-time All-NBA Second Team member, and the 1956 NBA Rookie of the Year. His career, and later his life, was cut short by a debilitating brain injury and paralysis. Rare ballpoint signature, "Maurice Stokes,” on a 2.5 x 1.25 slip, which is affixed to a 5 x 3 card. In very good to fine condition, with a light crease passing through his last name.
