Member of the House of Habsburg (1503-1564) who ruled as Holy Roman Emperor from 1558 until his death, a reign characterized by conflict with the Ottoman Empire and wars of religion between Catholics and Protestants. Vellum manuscript DS, in German, signed “Ferdinand,” one page, 17.5 x 17, August 18, 1557. Untranslated official document signed at the conclusion by Emperor Ferdinand I. In very good to fine condition, with heavy intersecting folds.
