Partly-printed DS, signed "J. D. Rockefeller" and "H. M. Flagler," one page, 11.75 x 7.75, October 3, 1887. Stock certificate for one share in Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust issued to Mattie P. Bennett, signed at the conclusion by John D. Rockefeller as president, Henry M. Flagler as secretary, and Joel Francis Freeman as treasurer. The attached receipt is one of few known to mention Frank Rockefeller, the younger brother of Standard Oil co-founders John Davison Rockefeller and William Avery Rockefeller, Jr. Frank Rockefeller had a falling out with his brothers and left Standard Oil in 1898, refusing to speak to either of them for the rest of his life. In fine condition.
