Description

English essayist, poet, and politician (1672-1719) who co-founded The Spectator magazine. ALS signed “J. Addison,” one page, 6.75 x 9, 1713. Handwritten letter to Ambrose Phillips, in full: "The Bishop of Clogher Colonel Pagett and myself dine at Mrs. Bradshaw's tomorrow and are in hopes that you will be of the party. Colonel Pagett will meet you at St. James's Coffee-house at one o'clock & go with you to Kensington." In fine condition.
