Masters, in part: "I have been asked by Monsieur Bertrand, President of the Council of the Institut Pasteur, to organize a British Committee to promote the monument about to be erected to Pasteur in Paris; and it seems right that we should lend them a helping hand. Professor Percy Frankland is to be secretary…I am asking all British members of the Academie Francaise, and trust I am not taking too great a liberty in asking you if you will kindly allow your name to be used."
