Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1733-1798). AES, one page, 6.5 x 7.75, December 3, 1752. Endorsement penned by the 19-year-old George Read on the docketing panel from a legal document concerning the case of Melchior Schultze and Adam Wink, in full: "Please to Issue the above & You'll Oblige, your very Humble Serv't, George Read, Clk to Mr. Molland." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and staining, and old repairs to back of the folds.
