Description

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 13, October 15, 1881. President Arthur appoints James W. Siler, of Indiana as "Consul of the United States of America, at Cape Town." Signed prominently at the conclusion by Chester A. Arthur, and countersigned by Secretary of State James G. Blaine. Original white seal remains affixed to the lower left. Matted and framed to an overall size of 25.75 x 21.75. In fine condition.
