Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 13.5 x 15.5, July 12, 1852. President Fillmore appoints Frederick A. Boardman as "a Midshipman in the Navy of the United States." Boldly signed at the conclusion by President Fillmore and countersigned by Secretary of the Navy William A. Graham. The white paper seal affixed at the bottom remains fully intact. In fine condition, with intersecting folds and overall wrinkling.
