Description

Ballpoint signatures of Queen on three separate 5.5 x 4 album pages—“Freddie Mercury” and “Brian May,” “Roger Taylor,” who adds “Queen” in block letters, and “John Deacon.” The consignor notes that the signatures were obtained at the Roundhouse hotel in Lansdowne, England on November 23, 1975, on the day that Queen were due to perform in nearby Bournemouth at the Winter Gardens. In fine condition, with skipping to May's signature.

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, a concert ticket from the Winter Gardens performance, and a letter of provenance from the original recipient, which reads: “On the morning of Sunday 23rd November 1975, myself and a friend went down to the Winter Gardens Bournemouth to watch the road crew load in for the Queen show that night, something we often did, and maybe hang outside to hear the sound check. We asked the crew if they knew where the band were staying, and after being told some wrong places, eventually found them at the Road House hotel in the Lansdowne about half a mile up the road. We saw them through a window eating Sunday lunch, and waited till they finished, eventually coming out one by one, rather than together, which is how we both got our autograph books signed. Freddie was wearing his white satin suit too! Roger chatted a bit, and drew a logo. That was it really, and that night we went to the gig (it was the Night At The Opera tour), the ticket of which I enclose here.”
