ExtraordinarilyrareAllman Brotherspublicity photo signedbyDuaneAllmanandBerryOakley & Gregg Allman

Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Paragon Agency publicity photo of the Allman Brothers Band, signed in the lower border in blue ballpoint, "Duane Allman," "Gregory Allman," and "Berry Oakley." In very good to fine condition, with scattered creasing, and a few very faint edge tears. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.

This iconic Allman Brothers Band Stephen Paley “Messiah” publicity photo was photographed at the Rose Hill Cemetery in front of the Bond Tomb in Macon Georgia in the spring of 1969 and is highlighted by the incredibly rare signatures of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley, two founding members of the Allman Brothers Band and founders of the Southern rock genre. Allman, known for his inventive improvisational licks on the slide guitar, died in a motorcycle accident on October 29th 1971, he was only 24 years old. Oakley, remembered for his long melodic bass runs, also died in a motorcycle accident a mere three blocks from Duane’s fatal crash on November the 11th 1972, Berry was also 24 years old. It’s interesting to note that Gregg Allman signed in his full name “Gregory Allman.”

This Duane, Berry and Gregg signed publicity photograph comes from a private collector, who acquired it from a former employee of Showco Sound, who originally obtained it. Showco Sound provided sound for many Allman Brothers concerts throughout the years, as well as Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, Lee Michaels, Black Oak Arkansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd and so many others. An impossibly rare find and a true “Holy Grail.”
