Description

Signed book: In His Own Write. First UK edition. London: Jonathan Cape, 1964. Hardcover with slipcase, 5.75 x 7.75, 78 pages. Signed prominently on the first free end page in blue ballpoint, "John Lennon, xxx." Signed page also bears an ownership notation. In very good to fine condition, with surface impressions to the front cover, and some light staining and soiling to the signed page. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, who states that this "book was signed at the Foyle's Literary Luncheon, which was held at The Dorchester Hotel in London on April 23rd, 1964." First published in London in 1964, Lennon's first literary effort is a thin volume comprised of nonsensical, disjointed short stories and line drawings. The first solo effort of any of the Beatles, In His Own Write remains a great showcase of Lennon's creative talent.
