The consignor notes: 'It was 1965 and I was 11 years old. My mom worked as a cook and housekeeper for a British family who had a country home in Southbury, Connecticut. My mother worked for them for many years and one of their closest friends was D. H. Tollerbond, who became president of London Records. My mother came to know the Tollerbonds well as they often visited Southbury when they came to New York. The Rolling Stones came to New York to celebrate the release of their newest album, The Rolling Stones Now! in 1965, and Mr. Tollerbond had them sign it—and gave it to my mom along with a record player to give to me.'
