Royal Air Force instrument pilot rating card issued to "Capt. A. M. Worden, U.S.A.F." on March 9, 1964, serial no. 35545, 2.25 x 3.5, signed on the front by the group captain and signed on the reverse in black ballpoint, "Alfred M. Worden." A different commanding officer also signs a renewal on the reverse. In fine condition.
Seeking to advance his career in the US Air Force, Worden studied aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan from 1961-1963, earning Master of Science degrees in aerospace engineering and instrumentation engineering. He then applied for U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, but was not selected; instead, he took part in an exchange program with Britain's Royal Air Force and trained at the Empire Test Pilots' School in Farnborough, England, where he earned this certification.
