Distinguished Japanese actor (1889-1973) best known for his Oscar-nominated portrayal of a prison-camp commander in the film Bridge on the River Kwai. Wonderful vintage pearl-finish 7 x 9.5 photo of Hayakawa in a handsome front-facing pose by the Hartsook Studio, signed in fountain pen, "Sincerely yours, Sessue Hayakawa," who signs in Japanese below. In very good to fine condition, with overall scuffing, two vertical bends, and light silvering to the darker areas of the image.
