Description

American inventor, engineer, and entrepreneur (1765-1815) best known for designing the first commercially successful steamboat. His other endeavors included a commission from Napoleon that resulted in the first practical submarine, the Nautilus. ALS signed “Rob't Fulton,” one page, 4.75 x 6.5, no date. Letter addressed on the integral leaf by Fulton to "Mr. Leavenworth," in full: "I will endeavor to do myself the pleasure of Waiting on you this evening." In fine condition, with a wax seal-related stain to the upper right corner.
