Autograph poem in German, signed "A. Einstein," one page, 5.75 x 5.5, January 2, 1935. Einstein pens eight lines of original doggerel verse to Mrs. Margaret S. Pearce, entitled "Sonne und Mond! [Sun and Moon]," thanking her for a present. In part: "Ihr kluger Sinn ihr stets verkundet / Wo man die schwacher Stellen findet / Beim Mannsvolk—thut et auch erhaben / Und in der Weisheit ganz vergraben." Matted and framed with the original mailing envelope and a small portrait to an overall size of 8.5 x 16. In fine condition. Provenance: Lot 84, Christie's, April 16, 1980.
