Description

LS signed “J. C. Calhoun,” one page, 7.75 x 9.75, July 14, 1818. Letter to William Plumer, governor of New Hampshire. In part: "If the papers be not too voluminous, I would prefer to have them forwarded by mail. This may be conveniently done by dividing them into suitable parcels. Should you not approve of this course, you will oblige me by causing a conveyance by water to be procured." In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and scattered small stains.
