Description

ADS signed "Jack L. Ruby," one page, 8.5 x 11, Bob Willis and His Texas Playboys letterhead, May 3, 1952. Handwritten document incorporating his name twice, in full: "This agreement between O. L. Nelms and Jack L. Ruby effective 12:00 AM May 11, 1952 will release Jack L. Ruby of all obligations under terms of the lease, the note and chattel mortgage of the property at 218 Corinth St., better known as Bob Willis Ranch House." In fine condition, with decreased ink flow affecting some of the words. In 1952, Ruby borrowed money to purchase the Bob Willis Ranch House, a Western-themed club located near the center of downtown Dallas, at the corner of Industrial Blvd. and Corinth St. Financial difficulties forced him to give up the Ranch House later that year.

From the collection of Ronald E.F. Hoskins.
