Description

Ruby leases the Bob Willis Ranch House, a Western-themed Dallas club

DS, one page both sides, 8.5 x 13.75, February 11, 1952. Agreement in which Ruby leases "a building approximately 100 x 200 feet…now occupied by Bob Willis Ranch House" at the rate of $750 per month. Signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by O. L. Nelms as the lessor and Jack Ruby as the lessee. In fine condition, with a short tear to the top edge. In 1952, Ruby borrowed money to purchase the Bob Willis Ranch House, a Western-themed club located near the center of downtown Dallas, at the corner of Industrial Blvd. and Corinth St. Financial difficulties forced him to give up the Ranch House later that year.

From the collection of Ronald E.F. Hoskins.
